Audrey Joe-Ezigbo

Audrey Joe-Ezigbo is a visionary, strategic, and results-oriented business
leader and advisor with over 31 years of experience. She is Deputy Managing
Director, Falcon Corporation (a leading, wholly indigenous midstream and downstream Energy,
Gas Distribution & Trading company), which she co-founded in 1994, championing the
company's successful growth into a major player in the Nigerian Gas industry. Audrey is also
Managing Director/CEO of Optimera Energy LFZE, an SPV focused on Gas infrastructure build-
out, Gas distribution, and Energy optimization within Nigeria.
Audrey holds a BSc. Honors degree from the University of Nigeria; several Master’s degrees
in Finance, Marketing, and Business Administration from Lagos Business School, University of
Nigeria, and Nnamdi Azikiwe University; and a host of executive certifications in Management,
Leadership, and Governance from Harvard Business School, IESE Business School, NYU
Stern, IE Business School, and the WIMBOARD Institute.
Recognized as ‘The Leading Lady of Gas’, Audrey is a dedicated advocate for Nigeria’s energy
sector who has broken numerous barriers in her field. In 2018, she became President of the
Nigerian Gas Association (NGA), notably the first woman to hold this position over the NGA’s
25-year history, highlighting her extensive industry knowledge, leadership qualities, and the
respect she commands from her peers.
Audrey is the Chairman (first female) of the Advisory Board of the Nigerian Gas Association
(NGA). She is a member of the 2022-2025 EXCO of the International Gas Union, sitting in as
Nigeria’s representative on the Exploration & Production Committee; again, she is the first
African woman to hold this position.
Audrey is a Fellow (FEI) of the Energy Institute UK. She is a Member, Chartered Institute of
Directors (Nigeria) M.CIoD. She is the Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Major Energies
Marketers Association of Nigeria (MEMAN) and Vice Chair, CIoD Nigeria Energy & Power
Committee.
A passionate advocate for women, Audrey is a founding member of Women in Energy Network
(WiEN) and a global role model for Women in LPG (WiNLPG), mentoring young professionals
and promoting gender diversity in the sector.
Audrey sits on the Boards of FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria Plc, Lagos Business School
(LBS), Enterprise Development Center (EDC), Association of Local Distributors of Gas
(ALDG) Nigeria, and on the Investor Advisory Committee of Aruwa Capital Management.
In 2014, Ernst & Young named her Entrepreneur of the Year, West Africa, honoring her
leadership and commitment to building institutional capacity among African entrepreneurs. She
has won several awards for her roles in energy sustainability, and entrepreneurial development
– including the Lagos Business School Distinguished Alumni Award 2018; 2022 Energy
Trailblazer Award; 2023 Nigeria Gas Industry Excellence in Leadership Award; 2024 NGA Gas
Industry Leadership Award; and the 2024, WomEnergy Africa Excellence in Energy Enterprise
Award.
Audrey Joe-Ezigbo’s impact goes beyond corporate success. She is shaping Africa’s energy
