Biola Alabi
Biola Alabi is a respected investor and venture builder with more than two decades of experience shaping Africa’s innovation, media, and technology ecosystems. She is an Investment Partner at Delta40, a pan-African venture studio and climate fund backing early-stage startups in energy, mobility, agriculture, climate innovation, and fintech. She is also a General Partner at Acasia Ventures, an early-stage venture capital firm investing in transformative founders across emerging markets.
Through Delta40, Acasia, and her personal angel investing, Biola has backed over 50 startups, many led by first- and second-time founders building scalable solutions to Africa’s most urgent challenges. She is deeply passionate about inclusive innovation, IP-backed financing, and trust-based capital networks.
Beyond investing, Biola serves on several high-impact boards, including Pulse Africa, a leading digital media company; Akili Network, Kenya’s pioneering children’s edutainment platform; and the Lagos Angel Network, where she is Deputy Chair.
Previously, Biola was Managing Director of M-Net Africa, where she launched more than seven Africa-focused TV channels and created the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCAs), widely regarded as the “African Oscars.” She later founded Biola Alabi Media, the studio behind some of Nigeria’s highest-grossing films and award-winning television projects.
A recognised thought leader on capital, innovation, and entrepreneurship in Africa, Biola has spoken at the World Economic Forum, AVCA Conference, Africa Prosperity Summit, and Moonshot by Africa, among others. She is a Yale World Fellow and a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader.
Biola lives in Lagos with her daughter and remains deeply committed to unlocking Africa’s potential through entrepreneurship, climate innovation in energy, mobility, and agriculture, creative economy financing, and cross-border capital collaboration.
