Brandace B. Duncanson

Brandace B. Duncanson is the Director of Financial Services within the Ministry of Economic Affairs in The Bahamas, a role she has held since March 2022. She brings extensive experience in financial services policy, legislation, and regulatory matters, with a strong understanding of the legal and corporate framework governing the sector.

A trained legislative draftsperson, Ms. Duncanson has led and supported the development of a wide range of legislation, including financial services and land reform initiatives. She has also represented The Bahamas in key international forums, contributing to global financial reporting and transparency initiatives, including the OECD and FATCA, and serving on the Global Forum’s Automatic Exchange of Information Working Group and Peer Review Group.

Her public service includes appointments to the Constitutional Commission, where she contributed to national constitutional reform efforts, and the Road Traffic Authority Board, where she serves as Deputy Chairperson.

Ms. Duncanson holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons.) in Public Relations/Marketing, an LL.B (Upper Second Class Hons.) from the University of the West Indies, and a Legal Education Certificate from the Eugene Dupuch Law School. She is a member of The Bahamas Bar Association, a certified mediator, legislative drafting specialist, and Notary Public.
