Dr Babs Omotowa

Dr Babs Omotowa is a globally respected leader, boardroom strategist, energy executive, and education advocate shaping the future of Africa's future leaders.

He is the Founding President of the not-for-profit Nigerian University of Technology and Management (NUTM) – envisioned as “Africa’s MIT” – where he is leading efforts to develop a new generation of critical thinkers, problem solvers, tech-driven, and entrepreneurial leaders through practical, interdisciplinary, quality education.

Dr Omotowa brings over three decades of experience at the highest levels of global industry. He previously served as Managing Director/CEO of Nigeria LNG Ltd, during which the company achieved $40 billion in revenue, and as Vice President at Shell Global Upstream, where he oversaw operations related to the energy transition and climate change across 40 countries.

He currently serves on the Boards of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) and Stanbic IBTC and has held global board roles, including as Global President of the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (UK), and served on Boards including Seplat Energy, CAP Plc, and Pearlhill Technologies.

Dr Omotowa is the author of From Storeroom to Boardroom, a memoir of values-driven leadership, personal transformation, and impact.
