Director of Partnerships and Communications, The Osahon Okunbo Foundation

About

Nicole Asinugo

Nicole Asinugo operates at the intersection of story, strategy, and cultural infrastructure. Her
instinct is always the same: find the gap between what's being said and what's being felt, and
build everything toward closing it.

She founded Write Good Stories on a clear-eyed diagnosis: Africa doesn't lack storytellers. It
lacks the infrastructure to make them world-class.

Her own work spans the full range of what storytelling can do. Her screenwriting debut, Living in
Bondage: Breaking Free, won Best Screenplay at the 2020 Africa Magic Viewers' Choice
Awards and reaches audiences worldwide on Netflix. As show writer and producer, she brought
narrative to 1001 Seasons of Elie Saab — the largest fashion show ever staged in the Middle
East. She has shaped cultural exhibitions at Expo 2020 Dubai, aligned environmental
storytelling with design at COP28, and served as creative consultant to Global Citizen festivals
across Accra, Paris, and New York. In 2025, she made her directorial debut with the short film
God Knows Best. She also hosts The Lone Wolf Podcast — candid conversations with artists,
founders, and cultural leaders about the instincts and defining moments behind remarkable
creative careers.

She currently serves as Director of Partnerships and Communications for the Osahon Okunbo
Foundation (TOOF) — driving the cultural partnerships and global visibility that ensure Nigerian
creativity is seen, valued, and heard on the world stage.
